Word Lock From Master Lock

PTERODACTYL (USA, 2005)

Address: Mark L. Lester. Cast: Cameron Daddo (Prof. Michael Lovecraft), Coolio (Chap. Bergen), Amy Sloan (Kate Heinlein), George Calil (Serling), Ivo Cutzarida (Yolen), Steve Braun (Willis Bradbury), Mircea Monroe (Angie Lem), Jessica Ferrarone (Zelazny), Danny Lee (Gwen Kemper), Howie Lotka (Jason Donaldson). Duration: 80 minutes .

Symptoms: A group of students in paleontology, led by Professor Lovecraft (yes, like the writer), they go to a volcano in northern Turkey in search of fossils. At the same time a U.S. commando operations in the area for international terrorists (you know who is the favorite of the Yankees). Since no two without three, the convulsions of the volcano itself expose a good number of eggs in Pterodactyl. The encounter between the three groups are not going to wait.

Diagnosis: Since the previous review about a cold night death, mentioned how in the 70's the fantasy genre was treated in the field of production TV with great knowledge of the facts and special care through the work of top professionals in each and every one of the following sections: performers, directors, writers ... who came to continue the work that the great artisans of the series b were exercised (and still do) in previous decades. By contrast, the title that concerns us comes to my hair to show the gradual trivialization of such proposals and alarming devolution over the last thirty years of the average television viewer, given the frugality of these and other products.

Pterodactyl is a TV-movie that is attached gender " dinosaur resurrected humanity attacks" that so many gave us glorious examples in the history of cinema titles starting with those two early (and probably still the best) that are The Lost World ( 1925) and King Kong (1933). However, after the massive release of Jurassic Park the proliferation of large reptiles proliferated more and almost always with very little exciting titles: Tyrannosaurus, Komodo dragons, Pteranodon, Diplodocus ... each prehistoric creature, preferably large and ornery, seems already to have their private capacity and the Pterodactyl no podía ser menos.

The Flying Serpent (Sam Newfield, 1946) and the best known in these parts, Q, The flying snake (Larry Cohen, 1982).

But ignoring these purely technical issues back to the movie that is what it is. Your manager is an old acquaintance, Mark L. Lester, producer and director who had great popularity in the 80's thanks to such familiar titles as 1984 Course , Firestarter (adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same title) Command (with Schwarzenegger and launched into stardom) and Armed and Dangerous . As the Reagan era was fading, Lester products, always with a whiff fastizoide, (he actually in a statement defending mob justice outside the law, as well as trafficking in Extreme Justice , 1993) will be (coincidentally or not) relegated to the direct video market where never left, so far. In fact, in this history of dinosaurs and paleontologists clueless infographics, Lester manages to stick to a U.S. command (in northern Turkey!) in their relentless struggle for harassment and demolition of any terrorist faction. His work here as director is completely and utterly bland, without any pulse, which shows an alarming lack of interest or unwillingness of the work being done. Circumstance that is refuted by the fact that it took five years to put back after a camera but has maintained his tireless work as a producer.

The deal is also gray, with dull Cameron Daddo as the leading paleontologist. Daddo is the kind of players who did not immediately put your name but it sounds to have seen him in many forgettable television products. To take two recent examples, theirs are the protagonists of Category 7: The End of the World or The Exorcism of Isabella, equally mediocre films. His work is so functional that never manages to come to sympathize with her character. Little to highlight the rest of the cast and not the dumb blonde (could not miss such a production) starring Mircea Monroe and provides (at the cost of air anatomy) the rare moments of joy in the film . singer Coolio, who plays the captain of the marines, and the female lead played by Amy Sloan trade meet its functional role.

The script, perpetrated by Mark Sevi , whose credits include unstimulating quarter Ghoulies or our beloved Arachnid (with whom he has several points in common) provides many funny moments thanks to its lack of logic and rigor at all levels. Here Sevi achieved what seemed impossible: that the appearance of a Pterodactyl in our day is the most credible event everything that happens to below. Dialogues embarrassing hidden away, for its part, every little momento de respiro entre los protagonistas. ¡Ah!

And it is also digital effects leave something to be desired, as could not be otherwise in a very low budget production. In fact, any production Harryhausen three or four decades earlier than more realistic (and of course, magic) the interrelationship between real characters and animated creatures.

Despite all this, and to conclude positively, Pterodactyl entertainment can be a frugal yet effective for warm summer evenings we have just around the corner. Everything depends on the standards of the time or how cold it is our beer.

What Is A Skin For My Cell Phone?

DAYS OF TOUR, APPROACH AND TRAINING IN SETTLEMENTS MST (Brazil-RGS)

Last April, an approach made by a team of university extension to different production systems in settlements Movement Landless (MST) in Brazil. BIONATURE were visited (agroecological seed cooperative enterprise) in the Municipality of Hulha Black (Settlement "Fronteira Livre" and Santa Elmira) and the cooperative dairy cooperative and self COOPAVA (Settlement Vista Alegre) in the Municipality of Piratini, ending the tour at Camp MST in Sao Gabriel.

In this instance a guest Campon technician together with members of Commission Outreach and Activities Sector in the Middle (CSEAM) Artigas Extension Unit, Centre for Popular Education and Bella Union workers Raul Colonia Sendic Antonaccio, UTAA (Union of Sugar Workers of Artigas), APPARBU (Association of Small Farmers and Rural Employees Bella Union), Settlers of Mandiyú (dairy), Socal (union of workers of the factory ALUR - Bella Union) Group Jóvenes.Dicha activity is part of the work being done SECAM along with the group of rural workers in a joint contribution towards training and organizational strengthening of rural workers' groups.

The objectives of this visit were several:
  • an approach to the MST in relation to its history, objectives, strategies, context and analysis of the current situation.
  • know the social, economic and political settlements of the MST. Study
  • organizational and technological perspective (cooperation and agro-ecological production mode).
believe that such experiences allows workers to strengthen links between sectors and social movements that have a critical look at current agro-export model, as well as joint projects to build a production model first alternative where a balanced relationship with nature and distribute its benefits equitably throughout society.

Interestingly it was found that the MST is working permanently in alternative productive partnerships of various types and in this context what surprised us is the creativity and participation of all workers involved.

These experiences form part of an ongoing struggle to create another world, a new mode of production that is sustainable, with a new relationship between man and nature.

Also know these cooperatives helped to demystify the idea that organic necessarily mean higher costs and higher final price, making the good food is a privilege not a right. Here cooperatives understand that organic production is not just for the rich, but everyone should have access to it.

Finally moved some features of the characterization of production systems observed:
  • agroecological Vision (The production unit is an ecosystem subject to a particular ecological dynamics determined by a space and time.)
  • Improve basic food production and conservation of native germplasm (native) of the crop.
  • effective use of local resources (land, labor, agricultural products, etc.).
  • Diversification of production through polyculture and integrated land-livestock agriculture.
  • point to adapt the technology to the production of scale.
  • Food sovereignty (approximates the relationship between production and consumption). Perspective
  • associated products in various types (cooperatives, "Ming", single and mixed-associative).
  • The foundation (the center of concern) of the agro-ecosystem is the family unit and its reproduction.
  • aspire to be an alternative model anti-capitalist system.
  • Parental Control over production and labor (food sovereignty).
  • A permanent and active concern for gender issues.

Instruction For Pokemon Monopoly

UNA FRÍA NOCHE DE MUERTE (USA, 1973)

Original Title: A Cold Night's Death. Address: Jerrold Freedman. Cast: Robert Culp (Robert Jones), Eli Wallach (Enari Frank), Michael C. Gwynne (Val Adams). Duration: 74 minutes .
Symptoms: Scientists arrive at a base in the Antarctic to continue some experiments in observing the response of primates to extreme cold or altitude. Upon arrival they discover that the fellow who had to relieve frozen dead without any apparent signs of violence. Soon feel they are not alone and that a foreign presence hangs over them: doors and windows that open mysteriously, nervousness of the monkeys, appliances stop working ...

Diagnosis: The 70's is, without doubt, the golden age of the genre (fantasy is understood) we find the Most modern classics that have shaped the way we understand the fanta-terror today: Alien, Jaws, Halloween or Star Wars are just some of the most egregious examples, but the list is endless.

we add a great promotion of professionals, without the author's conceit that pollute the young filmmakers of today, who understood the craft of filmmaking as a craftsman and worked without any resort to television, providing worthy products that today would be unthinkable to find on the desktop of any of our chains. In that decade, the word "telefilm" had no derogatory meaning has today and there were frequent flirtations with the fantasy genre. By way of example the two films starring Kolchack , a kind of journalist specializing in the supernatural or Something Evil ( Something diabolical 1972) directed by a very young Steven Spielberg certainly featuring both solid television actor Darren McGavin. "One cold night death part of these more than worthy gender telefilms made with firm knowledge of the facts and, in that sense, is a real rarity and is today almost forgotten title despite having multiple attractions.

first thing that draws attention to the very beginning of your footage is the context in which we stand: an experimental station away from any inhabited place, where scientists take their cues from other primates in extreme conditions . Space immediately reminds us of the indispensable The Thing (John Carpenter , 1982 ), where a group of scientists were decimated by an external threat. And is that a group of people locked in a confined space, threatened from abroad and unable to get help, has provided encouraging results since Howard Hawks (in fact, no director credited in the first version of The thing ) did masterful River Bravo in 1959.

Nearly two only actors bear the brunt of the action. Robert Culp (unforgettable agent Maxwell The great American hero) interprets Robert solvency rather than a scientific man of action, since the first time clearly demonstrates his contempt for entrustment and his forced detention. He is the first one seems to realize that there is something strange, indefinite threat grows and seems to corner as the days pass. With him Frank, played by the great Eli Wallach , who represents the perfect scientist, a man who enjoys testing and analysis, all the time denying the existence of any mystery that cast doubt on their rational logic. The collision of two disparate personalities not long in coming as the strange events are occurring. Robert tries to open the eyes of Frank, while this is not only a strategy to force his fellow scientists to evacuate. The latent threat serve as a trigger for the onset of old personal ghosts in the form of mutual recriminations.
The initial approach is suitable for producing anxiety in the viewer since it has no more data than the protagonists, revealing the strange events at the same pace as them. The problem that prevents the film comes to round the results is, first, the tentative address Jerrold Freedman Tanning television producer here offers a very functional staging, with a flat photograph that fully leverages disturbing possibilities of decoration. On the other hand, it also fails to maintain Freddman account balance during the whole film, slowing too much the solution to the mystery. This means that, once the viewer has already made its own guess, need confirmation of some questions for the narrative forward smoothly and avoid downtime.

However, a disturbing use of sound and music, superb performances of Culp and Wallach and those last fifteen minutes really disturbing, make the balance is decidedly positive. The absence of any effect anything gory and emphatic resolution of the film able to generate in the viewer a true uncomfortable feeling is reinforced at the end where the character played by Wallach seen as its most terrible suspicions (ours in fact) are confirmed.
